The "Guidebook on Internationalisation in Career Guidance" emphasizes the importance of international mobility and its impact on professional development. Career guidance professionals should take into account several key elements when supporting students and professionals in their mobility processes.
These elements mainly include:
- International Competences: Encouraging skills and competences acquired during international mobility experiences and how they can be recognized and valued by employers and institutions.
- Cultural Adaptation: Helping students and professionals adapt to new cultures and work environments, fostering greater intercultural sensitivity and understanding.
- International Labor Markets: Providing information and guidance on different international labor markets, including specific opportunities and challenges in each region.
- Networks and Contacts: Promoting the creation and maintenance of international networks and professional contacts to support career development.
- Psychological Support: Offering emotional and psychological support to help students and professionals manage stress and challenges that may arise during their mobility experiences.
These areas of work have been developed by the partners of the Erasmus Careers
project, which includes the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Tilburg University (TiU), Expertise in Labour Mobility (ELM), and The Lifelong Learning Platform (LLLP).
